My New Zealand Adventure (12th-19th Aug)
Took a week off school to head down to good 'ol NZ for a week and a bit of snowboarding fun. Spent 5 awesome days in the snow, wizzing down the mountain and trying to pull a few new tricks to add to my quiver. Haha, not that i'm impressively good or anything, sorta just out of the newbie stage. Well it was a big group of 15 of us who headed down to the slopes, only knew a few of them, who were my buddies from previous trips. Loads of new faces and i made some decent new friends. Although with 15 people, it was a little bit of an organisational nightmare but we managed, with most little groups headed off to do their own little thing and meeting up in the end.
I have to say that NZ is one really really beautiful country. Imagine living in a place where the backdrop to your back garden are some of the most awe inspiring mountains. It was so Blue and magnificent... will chuck some photos up later when other people with better cameras have uploaded them. So we headed to these 3 slopes called Cadrona, Coronets Peak and the Remarkables over the 5 days. The snow was so much better than what i was used to over here in Australia. It was so much more powdery and it didnt really hurt when u stacked it... it made me just a touch bit braver
Broke my new bindings in... they were totally awesome. But here's the idiotic thing i did, i put my bindings the other way around and that kinda hurt my ankle a bit, but luckily after the first day, i realised what an idiot i'd been and swapped them over. After that, they worked superbly.. haha
Apart from snowboarding, alcohol was involved, pretty much every night
and at the end of this trip, i've got a slightly bruised rib to prove how much fun i had (stacked it on a jump)
